Jonathon Porritt

Jonathon Porritt is an environmentalist, writer, broadcaster and commentator who has been in the world of sustainability for a long time – he joined the Green Party in the summer of 1974. After a background in farming in New Zealand and teaching in London, Jonathon became Director of Friends of the Earth in 1984, co-chair of the Green Party from 1980-83, and in 1996 set up Forum for the Future, the UK’s leading sustainable development charity. His new book, ‘The World We Made’, was published in 2013, and he received a CBE in January 2000 for services to environmental protection.

A Bath-based environmental movement, run by young people, taking actions for young people. We organise environmental events, to help inspire the next generation to become more environmentally friendly and to create long lasting links between our communities. This pioneering event gives local 14 to 18 year olds an opportunity to learn about issues of environmental and social justice that will be defining issues for their generation.
